Winemaker Tasting Notes

Opens with aromas of blackberry, kirsch, crushed roses and chocolate truffle. The palate is tightly wound around an intensely structured core of dark fruit, nutmeg, green cardamom, balanced with sandalwood and a thread of cassis, all delivered on a firm but open grained tannins. As the wine finishes flavors turn to black cherry, cedar, and dusty cocoa. Beautiful now with decanting, the wine will continue to develop with time.

Winemaker Tasting Notes

The wines appearance is an opaque deep ruby red. The bouquet is a combination of savory aromas of turned earth, black currants, dried violet, allspice, and nutmeg with a touch of kirsch.  The flavors follow with vibrant cherries and blackberries along with subtle spices of nutmeg and cloves. There are wonderful nuances of toasted oak. The finish is soft with rounded tannins.
